Sri Lanka Customs says that 390 mobile phones and a person who were trying to illegally bring them into the country have been arrested at the Katunayake International Airport.

The value of this stock of phones is close to 3.4 million rupees (34 million), and the stock of mobile phones was imported without the approval of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL), according to Customs officials.

The suspect is a 45-year-old businessman from Dematagoda and is reported to have arrived in the country from Dubai this morning.
