People’s Bank has awarded the grand prize of the ‘People’s Remittance Vaasi Kotiyai 2024’ draw to A.A. Harshanath Chinthaka from Matugama, who received a cash prize of Rs. 2,000,000/-. The Event was held at the bank’s Head Office in Colombo 02, where People’s Bank Chairman, Prof. Narada Fernando, and Chief Executive Officer/General Manager, Clive Fonseka, presented the prize to the lucky winner.
Expressing his gratitude, A.A. Harshanath Chinthaka shared his excitement about being the recipient of this remarkable reward and invited all migrant workers to send their remittances to People’s Bank and be winners.
The event was graced by several distinguished officials, including People’s Bank Head of Marketing Nalaka Wijayawardana, Deputy General Manager (Overseas Customer Services) Aruni Liyanagunawardana, Assistant General Manager (Channel Management) I.K Indika, Assistant General Manager (OCS) Buddhika Ranatungage, Chief Manager (OCS) N. Arudeselvan, Senior Manager (OCS) Thilini Perera, Kalutara Regional Manager Monika Suriyapperuma, and Kalutara Branch Manager Duminda Rasajeewa.
The ‘People’s Remittance Vaasi Kotiyai 2024’ initiative aims to recognize and appreciate Sri Lankan migrant workers for their invaluable contribution to the national economy. As part of this campaign, People’s Bank awarded Rs. 2,000,000/- to the grand prize winner, while monthly winners receive Rs. 250,000/-, and weekly winners are rewarded with Rs. 100,000/-.
Building on this success, People’s Bank has also launched the ‘People’s Remittance Vaasi Kotiyai 2025 – Send and Win Bangkok Tours’ draw. This new initiative, running from 1st January 2025 to 31st December 2025, offers 52 Bangkok tours over 52 weeks. Customers who send foreign workers’ remittances to People’s Bank through channels such as People’s Web Remit, People’s Instant Remit, Telexes, Swift, Western Union, Ria, and similar cash pickup services are eligible to participate. The more remittances a customer sends, the higher their chances of winning.
Additionally, customers who send foreign remittances to People’s Bank via People’s Remittance also have the opportunity to win exciting prizes through the ‘Dolos Mahe Vaasi Chakraya’ promotion.
With these initiatives, People’s Bank continues its commitment to supporting and recognizing the hard work of Sri Lankan migrant workers, ensuring they are rewarded for their efforts in strengthening the economy and improving the lives of their families.
