The UNP has fielded 06 strong groups with the aim of gaining power in 06 local government institutions in the Nuwara Eliya district in the local government election, says Maskeliya UNP Chief Organizer K. K. Piyadasa.
He said this while speaking to the media in Hatton after submitting nominations for the local government election.
”For this year’s local government election, the UNP has fielded candidates under the elephant symbol for the Hatton Dickoya Urban Council, Ambagamuwa, Norwood, Maskeliya, Walapane, and Haguranketha Pradeshiya Sabhas in the Nuwara Eliya district. We have the best team this time.
This time, a group of strong candidates who are highly respected among the people of those provinces have been fielded. We strongly believe that under those circumstances, the UNP will be able to gain power in those local government institutions.
By now, many people in this area have understood that the UNP can do something for the village. We are confident that under those circumstances, these people will rejoin the UNP.
