Lawyer Nagananda Kodituvakku has filed a motion before the Supreme Court that the way the National People’s Power was registered by the Election Commission is illegal.
He has presented this motion in relation to a petition filed against the Election Commission’s decision to deny the registration of the “Vinivida Peramuna” as a political party.
The motion claims that it is illegal to register the National People’s Power, which is a part of the Janata Vimukthi Peramuna, as a political party, and that it is illegal to register different branches of the same party as political parties separately.
