Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe stated in Parliament today that he met President Ranil Wickremesinghe after yesterday’s cabinet meeting and he raised the need to abolish the interim cricket committee.
“The President said that the subject of sports will be taken under his subject. After that I asked him to remove me from the cabinet. Sri Lanka cricket is run by robbers. Therefore, I will not abolish the interim committee,” he said.
But so far the court has issued an interim order suspending the gazette issued by the sports minister abolishing the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute.
