Minister Wasantha offers solutions to coconut shortage

Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe says that a program has been prepared to provide a coconut for Rs. 130 through Sathosa. He said that relevant government institutions have been summoned and given instructions in this regard, while addressing Parliament today.

He said that steps will be taken to sell coconuts auctioned in government estates to the public through Sathosa. Minister Samarasinghe further said that coconuts will be available in the market by preventing consumers from stealing.

Due to the shortage of coconuts, in some areas, a coconut is being sold for between Rs. 100-120, while a coconut is around Rs. 200.
