M. H. M. Ashraff Commemoration Today in Kattankudy.

The 26th commemoration ceremony for the late M. H. M. Ashraff, founder of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, and the party’s delegate convention are scheduled to be held in the town of Kattankudy on September 16.

The 34th delegate convention of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, attended by representatives from across the island, is taking place this morning (Wednesday, the 16th), while the commemoration of the party’s founder—the late former Minister M. H. M. Ashraff—is scheduled for the afternoon. The 26th commemoration ceremony for Mr. Ashraff is being held at the ‘Hizbullah Cultural Hall’ in Kattankudy, Batticaloa District.

A.M. Shahjahan, the Minister for Minorities Welfare in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is scheduled to deliver the commemorative address at the event.

Party Leader and Member of Parliament Rauff Hakeem will deliver a speech regarding the life and significant contributions of the late leader M.H.M. Ashraff.

A large number of party members and followers from across the country, along with distinguished local and foreign guests, are expected to attend the event.
