Major General Nilantha Premaratne has been appointed as the new Army Commander. With this appointment, he has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
An alumnus of St. Servaes College, Matara, he served as the 69th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army before this appointment.
