The Department of Railways is currently carrying out urgent repairs on the Kandy-Matale railway line, which was severely damaged due to Cyclone Ditva.
71 places on the 28-kilometer stretch of the line have been damaged, and about 30 places are currently being repaired.
There are about 10 places that have been seriously damaged, and the repairs are currently being carried out with the assistance of the Bridges and Engineering Division and the Roads and Industries Division of the Department of Railways.
