State Minister for Primary Industries Chamara Sampath Dissanayake said that before cutting the pension of the former First Lady, the former MPs of the Janata Vimukti Peramuna should pay back the pension to the government.
Speaking at the Parliament, he said that 39 former MPs of the Janata Vimukti Peramuna have taken an amount of twenty four crores sixty three lakhs sixty thousand as pensions for 13 years. The state minister said that when he asked Samantha Vidyaratne, the former JVP member of Badulla district, what he would do with the pension, he said that he would write the check to the party office in Pelawatte.
