A discussion was held today between the representatives of the Vehicle Importers Association and Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe. Shanta Gamage, president of the association, said that they did not receive a positive response from the Governor of the Central Bank to import vehicles again.
But the central bank governor has agreed to focus on lowering loan interest rates in the future so that the used vehicle sales market gets relief. Vehicle importers say that if interest rates decrease, the used vehicle sales market will be protected.
