Iran appoints new spiritual leader .

Iran has chosen Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of former spiritual leader Ayatollah Al-Khamenei, as its spiritual leader.

Former spiritual leader Ayatollah Al-Khamenei was killed in the first US attack on him and the new spiritual leader was officially announced yesterday.

Mojtaba Khamenei, a hardline Shia cleric, is 56 years old. His mother, father, wife and sister were also killed in the American attacks and Mojtaba Khamenei’s life was reportedly saved by staying elsewhere.
