The Bribery Commission filed indictments against three defendants, including former State Minister Shashindra Rajapaksa, before the Colombo High Court today (19) on a corruption charge.
Sepalika Samankumari and Keerthi Bandara Kotagama have been named as other defendants in the indictment submitted by the Bribery Commission.
30 individuals have been included as witnesses and 38 documents have been included as exhibits.
The Bribery Commission has charged the defendants with corruption and aiding and abetting in the commission of abetment of corruption by using their official power to influence officials of the Compensation Office and obtaining compensation of Rs. 8,850,000, despite the refusal to pay compensation for a property in the Kiriibban Ara area damaged during the conflict that broke out on May 9, 2022, including a building illegally constructed on land in the Kiriibbanwewa area of Sevanagala, which belongs to the Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority.
