India has decided to remove the ban imposed by India on the export of large onions in relation to Sri Lanka. This is stated in an announcement issued by the Indian Embassy in Sri Lanka.
Export of up to 10,000 metric tons of onion has been permitted as per the enclosed notification of the Director General of Foreign Trade of India.
The release for Sri Lanka is aimed at the Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations, and it is a reconfirmation of India’s neighbor first policy, the Indian Embassy said in a statement.
