The annual bus fare revision should be implemented from tomorrow (01), and if not, legal action will be taken, said Gemunu Wijeratne, Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association.
He said that although the National Transport Commission has already been informed about the way in which the bus fare should be revised this year according to the annual bus fare revision policy, they have not held any discussions with the bus associations in this regard.
When asked about the National Transport Commission, a spokesperson for it said that the proposal regarding the annual bus fare revision has already been sent for cabinet approval. He said that the bus fare revision can be implemented only if it is approved.
