Human Rights Commission begins hearing Suresh Saleh’s complaint

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka has decided to hear the complaint filed by the lawyers of former State Intelligence Service chief Suresh Saleh. Accordingly, the Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka, Nimal G. Punchihewa, stated that officers from the Criminal Investigation Department have been summoned to the commission this week to present their case.

Accordingly, a statement has been recorded from Suresh Saleh at the Criminal Investigation Department in the past few days, and statements have also been recorded from other suspects near the cell where he was detained.

In addition, a group of officers from the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka have reportedly gone to the Colombo National Hospital yesterday (08) to investigate Suresh Saleh.

Although the CID officers involved in these investigations were informed to appear before the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka last week, they had requested another date, stating that they could not appear on that day.

Accordingly, a group of CID officers, including the officer in charge of the relevant investigation sites, have been informed to appear before the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka this week.
