Showers will occur at times in the Northern, Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Matale, Nuwara Eliya and Polonnaruwa districts. The Meteorological Department announces that some places in these areas may experience fairly heavy showers exceeding 50 mm.
Several showers may occur in the Kandy and Anuradhapura districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in the Kalutara district after about 2.00 p.m.
Fairly strong winds of about 40 kmph will occur at times in the eastern slopes of the Central Highlands and in the Hambantota, Monaragala and Ampara districts.
Foggy conditions are likely to prevail at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.
Thunderstorms accompanied by temporary strong winds and lightning are possible.
