A 16-year-old girl who jumped from the 12th floor of a 24-story apartment complex in Borella Police Division last night and was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital in a critical condition had died. An investigation in this regard has been launched at the Borella Police Station.
The deceased is a 16-year-old resident of Serpentine Road, Borella.
The deceased girl has been receiving medical treatment for mental stress for some time, her mother has stated, and the Borella Police are conducting further investigations to determine whether the girl jumped from the balcony of that floor or fell.
