A former UNP Horana Municipal Councillor who was arrested by Mirihana Police in connection with an incident of defrauding six textile businessmen in the Pettah area of ​​nearly 160 million rupees has been produced before the Wattala Police and remanded until the 21st of this month.

It is reported that the suspect had cheated these businessmen by issuing cheques without money in her bank account.
