Shyamila Perera, a former Chairperson of the National Lottery Board, was reportedly arrested this afternoon.
She has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on charges of corruption.
She has been arrested on charges of corruption by employing three officers who were recruited during her time as Chairperson of the National Lottery Board instead of working for the office of then Minister Ravi Karunanayake.
