Don’t Kill Us – Pleas from Harak Kata and Kudu Salidu

Harak Kata and Kudu Salindu, two powerful underworld criminals who were brought to Sri Lanka from Madagascar and engaged in drug trafficking, have been kept in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, and the authorities have decided to conduct lengthy investigations.

Police information revealed that yesterday (13) evening, the Inspector General of Police held a special discussion with CID Deputy Inspector General Prasad Ranasinghe and CID Director Kavinda Piyasekera.

Although it has been decided not to hand over these two underworld criminals to any investigative team other than the Criminal Investigation Department, any investigative team will have the opportunity to interrogate these two criminals with prior permission from the Criminal Investigation Department in connection with their investigations.

Special attention of police forces has also been given to pay special attention to the security of Harak Kata and Kudu Salindu. This is because the intelligence agencies have information that Harak Kata and Kudu Salindu have had very close relations with several corrupt officers of the police.

The same sources also mentioned that Harak Kata and Kudu Salindu were trembling with fear during their arrival and did not think that they would be taken to Sri Lanka. The information further stated that they had even appealed to the officials not to endanger their lives.
