The proposal submitted to the Parliament on the restructuring of domestic debt was passed today (01) with a majority vote. The resolution received 122 votes in favor and 62 votes against.
The relevant proposal was presented to the Parliament by the Leader of the House Minister Susil Premajayantha as the proposal to give all necessary permissions to the Minister of National Policy of Monetary and Economic Stabilization for the optimization of the domestic debt of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
The polling was done after the debate which was held amid serious protests by the opposition ended tonight. The voting was scheduled for tomorrow, and in yesterday’s party leaders’ meeting, all parties agreed to finish the debate today and to finish the voting at night, so it was agreed to hold the debate today.
