The deep depression in the southwest Bay of Bengal was located about 240 km southeast of Trincomalee at around 06.00 pm today. It is likely to move close to the east coast of the island and further intensify into a cyclone on November 27.
Due to this, the sky is cloudy in most parts of the island and very heavy rains and strong winds can be expected in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and North-Western provinces.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in many parts of the island.
