The Court of Appeal today (22) ordered that a written copy and audio recordings of the order issued by the Trincomalee Magistrate’s Court on the 19th, remanding two monks including Balangoda Kassapa Thero in connection with the incident of installing a Buddha statue on the Port Road in Trincomalee, be immediately submitted to the court.
The Court of Appeal issued this order when the writ petition filed by Kassapa Thero and the monks against their remand was taken up today.
Accordingly, the Court of Appeal has ordered that this petition be called for reconsideration at 1.30 pm today.
