Four people have died and approximately eight others have been injured following a multi-vehicle collision near the 7th-kilometer post in the Kurugoda area of Akurana, along the Kandy–Matale main road.
The accident occurred when a lorry transporting cement collided with several other vehicles. It is reported that the condition of some of the injured is critical. The accident has resulted in severe traffic congestion on the Kandy–Matale main road, disrupting the flow of traffic in the area. Police investigations into the incident are currently underway.
