The Ministry of Health says that the paid treatment service at the Borella Ayurveda National Hospital has been expanded. The 8-storey building currently under construction has been allocated for the service.
The number of rooms to be established there with high-quality facilities for paid treatment is 82. This includes operating rooms, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, panchakarma units and yoga practice units.
The government expects to attract 4 million tourists to the island in the coming year and the Ministry of Health states that the hospital can be made a place that generates foreign exchange by providing Ayurveda treatment services to those tourists.
The new 8-storey building complex being constructed at the Borella Ayurveda National Hospital has a bed capacity of 340.
