Basil demands a general election from the President

Former minister Basil Rajapaksa said that Bdisil presented his party’s request for a general election during the discussion with President Ranil Wickremesinghe, and that discussion ended positively. However, he said that before reaching a final decision in this regard, he decided to consult his respective parties.

He did not give a direct answer to the question raised by a journalist whether the President agreed to hold the parliamentary elections first. But he said that the Executive Council of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna will meet on March 27 to discuss what was agreed with the President. In parallel, he mentioned that the President will refer this matter to the United National Party (UNP).

He mentioned that after consulting the opinions of our parties, we decided to meet again within a week.-the hindhu.
