The Matara Chief Magistrate’s Court has issued a special order to reactivate and enforce the previously imposed suspension and prohibition orders regarding the property comprising nearly half an acre of land and the structures thereon located in the Browns Hill area of Matara and said to belong to former Minister Basil Rajapaksa. Matara Chief Magistrate Chathura Dissanayake issued this order after considering submissions made by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) via a motion.
Furthermore, the Magistrate ordered that any other party claiming legal or bona fide ownership of the said land and property must present their claims to the court within 14 days, starting from yesterday (06).
