The Batticaloa High Court judge yesterday ordered the release on bail of Chief Inspector Nagur Thambi Abubukar, who was arrested for helping one of the main suspects in the Easter Sunday attack, Pulastini Mahendran alias Sarah Jasmine, to flee the country.
Nagur Thambi Abubukar was arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act on 13.07.2020 on charges of concealing information about Pulestini and accompanying her in his vehicle to flee India. Nagur Thambi Abubukar was remanded in custody for 9 months after being produced before the Kalmunai Magistrate’s Court.
