Asian Paints Causeway Drives the Revival of Sri Lankan Motorsport as Title Sponsor of SLADA Racing Championship 2025

Asian Paints Causeway, Sri Lanka’s No.1 auto refinish coatings company, proudly announces its role as the title sponsor for the Asian Paints Causeway SLADA Racing Championship 2025 – a premier series of four national racing events set to ignite the motorsport calendar from August to November.

Marking a powerful comeback after years of disruptions caused by national tragedies, the pandemic, and economic challenges, this year’s championship represents a pivotal revival for the sport. Organized by the Sri Lanka Autosports Drivers Association (SLADA), in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Air Force, the series will see the nation’s top drivers and riders compete across both gravel and tarmac tracks.

The championship calendar features:

  • 16–17 August – Rotherham Katukurunda Circuit Meet 1
  • 30–31 August – Gajaba/SLADA Supercross – Saliyapura
  • 4–5 October – Gunner/SLADA Supercross – Minneriya
  • 1–2 November – Rotherham Katukurunda Circuit Meet 2

One of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated champions and Asian Paints Causeway’s brand ambassador for over a decade, Ashan Silva, expressed his excitement at the launch event, calling the championship “a boost for motor racers in the country” and a dream come true for competitors who grew up watching iconic meets such as Gajaba and Gunner Supercross.

Speaking on behalf of the title sponsor, Mr. Vaithilingam Kiritharan, Country Head for Asian Paints Causeway – Sri Lanka, reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to uplifting local motorsport, “We are delighted to partner with SLADA in bringing back one of the most anticipated racing series in the country. Motorsport in Sri Lanka is not just a sport—it is a platform that drives innovation, skill, and community spirit. As the market leader in automotive coatings, we see it as our responsibility to support initiatives that strengthen both the sport and the wider automotive industry.”

Asian Paints Causeway’s involvement in motorsport is part of a broader, long-term strategy to uplift Sri Lanka’s automotive industry. In addition to sponsorships of landmark events such as SLADA Racing and Walawa Supercross, the brand invests in skills development through its partnership with the Vocational Training Authority (VTA), nurturing the next generation of industry professionals.

With 21 tarmac and 23 gravel events planned for the season, and the enthusiastic backing of spectators, competitors, and media alike, SLADA Racing 2025 promises to be a high-octane celebration of speed, skill, and resilience.
