As the minister says, the electricity bill cannot be reduced – C.E.B. says

It is reported that the Sri Lanka Electricity Board has informed the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) that despite the Minister of Energy’s statement that the existing electricity tariffs can be reduced by 18%, the electricity tariffs can only be reduced by 14%.

The Electricity Board says that a significant tariff reduction has been made in such a way that the Electricity Board will not incur any losses, but the revised tariff proposal has been prepared so that the entire consumer group can get relief.
