Army Commander Vikum Liyanage has filed a case before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday (07) against three people who created an insulting and defamatory video and spread it through social media.
It is said that three people including Thushara Saliya Ranawaka, America’s YouTube company and Google company have been named as respondents in this case presented by Lawyer M. Mohammad Farshan.
The complaint has been filed in terms of Section 24 of the Online Safety Act (under the Social Media Act) and the complaint has further sought to issue summons to the respondents to appear in court and to prohibit the further dissemination of the defamatory video clip. Requests
