The National People’s Power yesterday accepted the official invitation for the political debate conducted by the Daily Mirror and Lankadeepa newspapers with the three main candidates of the upcoming presidential election.
Its general secretary Tilvin Silva said that NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake is ready for the debate and will participate in it.
Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has also been invited for that, and the official invitation has been handed over to the opposition leader’s office in Colombo. The invitation has been forwarded to Member of Parliament Nalin Bandara who is cordineting the debate.
The official invitation will be delivered to President Ranil Wickremesinghe soon.
The three main presidential candidates Ranil Wickramasinghe, Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Sajith Premadasa are scheduled to discuss their economic and political policies and pledges to move the country forward if they win.
A date and time for the debate will be announced in due course after all three candidates have accepted the invitation.
