It is reported that another person died yesterday (09) due to extreme heat in Punnalai Kattuwan area, Jaffna.
Sivagnanam Jayakumar (45) died after returning home after drinking alcohol with a group of friends in the afternoon and was admitted to Thelippalai Hospital in an unconscious state.
The body of the deceased was sent to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital during the post-mortem examination which revealed that he died of dehydration due to excessive heat.
It is also stated that six people in Jaffna have died due to heatstroke.
