All evidence given against Lawyer Hijaz Hezbollah were false . The second witness is admitted before the court

Under the Prevention of Terrorism Act and the ICCPR Act, the case filed by the Attorney General against Puttalam High Court lawyer Hijaz Hezbollah and Mohammad Shakeel, who worked as a principal, was recalled today.

The second witness in the case, Mohammad Fausan, who gave the evidance that led to the imprisonment of Hijaz Hezbollah and Mohammad Shakeel for a long time, admitted in the court today that all the evidance he had given earlier were false.

According to that, Saharan Hashim came to the Puttalam Al Zahaira Madrasa School which he mentioned earlier and gave lectures, Fatima Jifria and Sara Jasmin women came to give lectures in that school, a projector was used in the school to show videos related to the war were found to be false.

Accordingly, the judge decided to release the concerned witness today on a personal bond of five lakh rupees.

On April 14, 2020, the Criminal Investigation Department arrested lawyer Hijaz Hezbollah under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) on charges of aiding and abetting the Easter Sunday bombers and engaging in activities deemed harmful to religious harmony among communities.
