Aliraja and Ambani offer to buy telecom shares

The State Enterprise Restructuring Unit will conduct evaluations in the future regarding three companies that have declared their eligibility for equity investment in the Sri Lanka Telecom Company under the process of privatization.

Under the State Enterprise Restructuring Program, private sector investors have the opportunity to invest in the state-owned shares of the telecom company. Accordingly, the time available for interested companies to submit their qualifications ended on the 12th.

India’s Jio Platforms Company, Fortune International Investment Company and Petigo Commission International have sent applications to declare their qualifications for this purpose.

Of these, the Indian Jio Platforms company is owned by the Mukesh Ambani family, one of the most powerful business families in India,

Petigo Comaccio is owned by the Leica Mobile business owned by Alliraja Subashkaran, who currently owns Swarnavahini and TV media network. Apart from these companies, a company called Fortune Global has also submitted its qualifications
