The Committee on State Finance requested the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to take action against the immigration officials and the officials of the Ministry of Public Security who failed to attend the committee meeting of the State Finance Committee held on May 14.
Its chairman Dr. Harsha de Silva said that all the officers who agreed to appear before the COPF committee on May 14 did not appear that day and it was a violation of parliamentary privilege.
On that day, the COP committee was scheduled to discuss the issue of visa issuance to a private company and the issues that arose there.
