A stamp featuring the image of veteran actress Airangani Serasinghe will be released.

The history of Sri Lankan cinema, which began with the silent film era in 1925, reached a proud centenary milestone in 2025. A commemorative stamp featuring veteran actress Airangani Serasinghe was released at a special ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of Sri Lankan cinema.

The 79th anniversary of Sinhala cinema and the 54th anniversary of the establishment of the National Film Corporation were also celebrated.

The ceremony, which was held under the patronage of the Minister of Buddhism, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, was also attended by Deputy Minister of Mass Media, Kaushalya Ariyaratne.
