The President met with the parents of the young man sentenced to death at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (21) morning.
He assured them that the government is intervening to the best of its ability to secure a pardon for Sivarasa Anojan, who has been sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia.
The President stated that necessary interventions regarding this matter would be carried out at both legal and diplomatic levels, and that steps would be taken to submit a formal written request to the King of Saudi Arabia, through diplomatic channels, seeking a pardon for Sivarasa Anojan.
