The price of a kilo of Indian big onions is currently being sold in the market at more than Rs. 500. Big onions imported from Pakistan and other countries are priced between Rs. 400-450.
There is also a shortage of Indian big onions in the Pettah wholesale market and the wholesale price of a kilo of big onions there has gone up to Rs. 400.
