The National Building Research Organization says that nearly 68% of the total land in the Badulla district is at risk of some form of landslide.
Harshani Perera, the organization’s Badulla district geologist, said that 368 major landslides were reported in the Badulla district during the period of bad weather.
She said that approximately 650 high-risk housing units have been identified so far.
