5,575 liquor bottles with fake security tax stickers have been found in the Pudukudiyirippu area of ​​Mullaitivu. The stock of liquor bottles was recovered during a joint raid conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Mullaitivu Police Special Task Force on the 14th.

During the operation carried out based on intelligence information received by the Eastern Naval Command, a 43-year-old resident of Mullaitivu was arrested with 5,575 fake liquor bottles.

The fake liquor bottles seized had government security tax stickers affixed. Accordingly, investigations have already been initiated to determine whether the stickers were issued legally or obtained illegally.

Prior to this incident, during investigations into the illegal liquor factory discovered in the Malabe area on June 28, it was reported that information had been revealed that the security tax stickers used for liquor bottles had been printed in Chennai, India and received by a representative in this country.
