The International Labor Organization says that nearly 374,000 workers in the country have lost their jobs due to Cyclone Ditva.
The organization estimates that the losses per month due to the cyclone that hit in late November, along with floods and landslides, are estimated to be US$48 million.
The agriculture and fisheries sectors have been severely affected, with 23% of paddy cultivation affected by the floods, the estimate says.
Meanwhile, the tea industry has also suffered a 35% loss, and smallholders, who account for about 70% of production, have been affected by the disaster, the estimate further states.
