Three people, including a small girl, were killed in an accident that occurred yesterday when a three-wheeler and a car collided in the Delgoda area of the New Kandy Road in the Meegahawatta Police Division.
The three-wheeler, which was traveling from Biyagama towards Delgoda, collided with a car coming from the opposite direction while trying to turn right on the road.
The three-wheeler driver, two women and two children who were traveling in it were seriously injured in the accident and were admitted to the Udupila Hospital with serious injuries. The three-wheeler driver, a woman and a girl died after being admitted to the Udupila Hospital.
The deceased were a 69-year-old resident of Delgoda, a 39-year-old and a 7-year-old mother and daughter from Siyambalape, the police said.
