Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa challenges those expressing opinions against the 22nd Amendment to explain how the independence of the judiciary will be affected by the amendment. He made this challenge today (15) while responding to a question asked by journalists.
He stated that the party he represents has told the public the truth in this regard, while another group is hiding something and telling the public falsehoods.
The Minister also said that he has a good relationship with the President and the Maha Thero and that he often seeks advice and guidance from them.
“Open your mouth and tell me straight how the independence of the judiciary will be lost through this 22nd Amendment. We are saying why we are doing this. How can that group say that this will lose the independence of the judiciary? They are not saying it yet. That is the problem,” the minister said.
