India has officially handed over another batch of Bailey bridges to Sri Lanka for the rehabilitation of rural roads severely damaged by Cyclone ‘Ditwa’.
The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka announced on social media ‘X’ that this latest batch of bridges weighing over 250 metric tonnes has been provided as another tranche of India’s US$ 450 million post-disaster reconstruction package.
The Indian Deputy High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Maithri K, officially handed over the stock of bridges to the Deputy Minister of Cooperative Development, Upali Samarasinghe.
