Police sources say that the body found in Eheliyagoda yesterday is the house of the Chinese national abducted from Holamba Waiya City premises.
On the night of the 22nd, three Chinese nationals arrived at the Colombo Port City in a rented cab and were fishing when a group of masked Chinese nationals attacked them and abducted them in two vans.
Two of them were later dumped near the Beach Plaza car park in the Colombo Port City. The two complained to the Port Police and investigations have been initiated into the incident.
Later, during questioning of two Chinese nationals who were waiting near the exit gate of the Port City, they said that they worked at the Port City, but further investigation revealed that this was not true.
The two suspects were subsequently arrested just before they were due to depart from Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake and were later handed over to the Port Police. During questioning, the police confirmed that they were directly involved in the crime.
Based on the information received from them, during the investigation, the police found a dead body believed to be that of a Chinese national in a room of an abandoned house near the Eheliyagoda intersection. It has also been revealed that it is the body of the person who was abducted from the Colombo Port City.
