Rescue workers have rescued an 18-day-old baby who was trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building in Venezuela, the BBC reported. The baby was found to be unharmed when rescued.
The baby’s mother was also trapped in the building, and she was rescued about an hour later. The baby was left in the rubble for nearly 32 hours, rescue workers said.
It is reported that the moment the child was handed over to the father of the child, who was shocked to learn that he had lost his baby and wife in the earthquake, was very emotional, and the relevant videos are rapidly circulating on social media.
More than 188 people have been reported to have died and many more have been injured in the severe earthquake that struck Venezuela within minutes.
