Police sources say that investigations have revealed that the woman’s boyfriend called the police about the body of a woman found in a car near the Teldeniya Hospital yesterday.
Police have revealed that the deceased woman had stayed at a hotel in the Nuwara Eliya area from June 3rd to June 16th and that she was a 33-year-old resident of the Weligama area.
It is said that during the CCTV footage of the Nuwara Eliya hotel where the woman was staying, the person suspected of being the boyfriend could be seen carrying the woman with difficulty.
After the Magistrate’s inquest, the body has been deposited at the Teldeniya Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination. Nuwara Eliya Police are conducting investigations to determine whether the woman’s death was a murder or if it occurred for other reasons.
