An amount of US$ 695 million related to the 5th and 6th reviews of the Extended Fund Facility program under the International Monetary Fund has been credited to the Sri Lankan Treasury.
The IMF Executive Board approved the 5th and 6th reviews at its meeting held on the 27th.
In March 2023, the International Monetary Fund approved a financial facility of US$ 3 billion under the Extended Fund Facility.
The IMF Executive Board met on the 27th to approve its fifth and sixth reviews, and following the meeting, IMF Deputy Managing Director Kenji Okamura stated that Sri Lanka has robustly implemented the provisions of the Extended Fund Facility, despite the challenging situation.
